push-loc /twist-loc hose ?
ok the new car has Russell twist-loc hose on it.....i changed the fitting on the card from a strait in to a 45 degree to get the line away from the thermostat housing. My question is ...what's the trick with this stuff? I got the new fitting on ..BUT it was a pain! I know on old rubber hose ya spray a little WD-40 on it and it goes togather easy....dose that work or is that what ya need to do to this stuff? ( i didn't think to do it when i was trying to get it togather)

Hi Greg- We've used liquid dish soap to help it along-yeah it's a real pain. Doug Schriener

Hold the end (3-4 inches) in a pan of hot/boiling water for a couple of minutes or longer.
It will slide on easily. Be prepared and work fast. |
Re: push-loc /twist-loc hose ?
Greg,
I have been using the twist lock hose for a couple of years and really like it. Another tip, use light oil [example, air tool oil or the like] It does fit tight so if possible, put the fitting in a vice so you can really get after it. And you can use a hair drier to warm the hose. Larry Woodfin |
