396 question
 
I know this may be a "in general"question,,,,BUT what hp numbers should a 1969 ---396---stocker motors see on the dyno to be competitive,,,,,,,looking at one that was suppose to dyno around 500,,,,would this number be in line?? or low??


also this is with the "401 head"

Whcih engine are you dynoing? 325 350 0r th2 375 version?

That's not nearly enough. That's considerably short of being competitive.

580-600 HP is good enough to qualify well. 600-630 HP gets you to the top. Keith
