New Guy, a little worn around the edges...

I’d like to share with you all how excited I am to rejoin the NHRA racing community! My racing exploits ended in 1979 when a far younger version of me committed to serve in our nation's NAVY which as you might expect relegated me to the ranks of an enthusiastic fan yet somewhat reluctant spectator. After retirement from active duty in 2003, I choose to continue my support of our Department of Defense as a contractor, still plugged in but with no real time to commit to active participation.

With my, no kidding, retirement now looming on the not too distant horizon I have been counseled by many, that know me well, to pick something I really love to pursue during the coming years. For me that decision was an absolute no brainer, nothing has ever made me happier than preparing for, participating in and experiencing NHRA drag racing!

I look forward to the coming years with great anticipation also to finally meeting many of you whose posts I’ve followed and am very grateful to those of you that made me welcome in your pits over the years.

Receiving my number this morning sure put a big smile on this old sailors face! I hope my story puts a smile on yours…

Warmest possible regards,

Peter A. Lanciers

I am also a Navy veteran. I served from 1967-1971; mostly on a nuclear submarine, but also on 2 submarine rescue ships. Welcome to the forum, enjoy your retirement, and the best of luck with your future racing endeavors!

Paul, my son and I jumped into the stock eliminator world late last year. We have been bracket racing awhile but this deal is quite a bit different. We didn't even know how to tell the tech guy what car we had. The support from the Stock S/Stock community has been awesome. Always somebody around to check up on us. It gets a bit expensive sometimes , but we are having a ball! Thank you for your service, and we'll see you at the races.

Congratulations on your retirement!

Thank you for your service.

By all means build or buy a race car, it won't be easy but it will be rewarding. As many will tell you here buying the right car can be a much better economic proposition that building one. It can also get you on the track quicker.

Do you have a brand preference?

Good Luck!
Bill
