Full Size Chevy drivshaft length w TH350
In my 65 Impala Stocker, I am going to run a TH350 with the "short" tailshaft. First can I assume this is the most common type of TH350 used? The driveshaft I have is the one I used with a Jerico in my 68 Impala I used to have. I had this one made, a 3.5 inch. I cannot use this driveshaft because it is not long enough with the TH350 I will now be using. I need to get one made about 6" longer.
My question I guess is for anybody who has run a full size Chevy with a TH350 "short" tailshaft is there an issue with running such a long driveshaft ? This is a 396/325 car , highest RPM around 6700 Any info/input would be appreciated. Will Lamprecht 1965 Impala 396/325 I/SA ' |

I would talk to Mark Williams. They have a formula and could give you a reputable answer. Obviously, you could shorten it up by converting your trans. over to a 12" long tail housing if needed. All you need is the output and tail housing.
