fuel test in stock superstock WHY!!!!

why you do the fuel test in stock super stock class?
If you want to cheat, you can do with so much options.

in other classes, no fuel tests and nobody run with nytro or any additive

The problem is many car stock and SS, can run with pump gas. the racers lose time on the return road.

the racing fuel cost $12.00 VS $2.00 for pump gas.

Why the pump gas is not accepted?

for me... the fuel test is useless, same for the head-up.

it's my opignon

Your knowledge of class racing is as poor as your spelling and sentence structure! I really hope English isn't your first language!

It's called a level playing field and fuel is checked in classes with indexes so illegal (cheating) additives cannot be added. S/SS are not the only ones where fuel is checked. Jim

We ran a good 1/2 a second faster running methanol......that's not allowed. Fuel is the limiting factor on many combinations in S/SS and if it's not checked good luck hanging with the forced induction cars.

Why? Because they are restricted performance based classes.

Here is my opinion, you need to try bracket racing, I am sure it is a better fit for you. Stk/SS is not for everyone ....How about that ??

Most racers at the top of their class work very hard to run real fast. The payoff comes with their class wins, and their heads up wins.wouldn't be fair for me to juice my fuel and put a half car length on them.

Why? Because NHRA says so....End of discussion.

The time in line waiting to scale and fuel check is minimal and provides a quick way to validate some basic rule adherence. They do a good job moving people through in my opinion.

If they allowed pump gas, it would be very difficult to police what is right and what is wrong.

If you don't believe in heads up, class racing is probably not going to appeal to you. It is a lot more time and money to build and maintain one of the stock and Superstock cars than a traditional non performance car that is not restricted with the rules.

As racers and chemists looked for any edge, stuff like Gold, ERC became available and expensive. Some had a harsh smell, and fuel ck guys were getting nauseatted as car after car idle by. When almost everyone had something, it was back to square one.
Additionally, NHRA saw a way to milk gas suppliers for $ to be a spec fuel.
