Rich Aceves, my best friend and racing partner for more than 45 years passed away on Friday July 1, 2016…..

Rich was the Patriarch of the Aceves Racing Family, Brother Dave Sr. and nephews Dave Jr, Bob and Mike Aceves….

The sport of Drag Racing and anyone else who had the good fortune to know him knows what we lost…..

Arraignments by the Aceves Family are pending…..

RIP to my good buddy! My earliest memories of Rich go back to the 70s and the iS/S Chevys that he was a part of with Tom Armanino and Bob Mulry however his racing career began well before that-going back to the Jr. Stock days. Anyone that was around Rich knew how much he loved class racing. His humor, knowledge, historical perspective and good nature will surely be missed. Our family sends thoughts, prayers and smiles with great memories to the Aceves Family, Bob, Tom, Butch and so many others that knew Rich well.

RIP.....Many great memories battling for the G,H/SA records between Rich and my dad!One really great memory that stands out was at fremont between Rich,Joe Threat and my dad going for the H/SA record.Oh how records used to mean something and the great lengths we would go to set them.Randy

Such sad news. Our most heartfelt condolences are extended to the entire AM Racing Family. Rich possessed the unique combination of a highly competitive nature with an overriding sense of honor and fair-play. The world could use more guys like Rich Aceves.
