My first visit to the Jegs Supernationals at BG
It'll be by my first time attending this event. It's only about an hour drive and I always enjoy going to BG for the D3 race in late August. This will also be the first drag race my son has ever attended. He's only 3 but like most boys, loves what his daddy loves. This past weekend he enjoyed watching a little D3 at Norwalk on youtube since it was being live streamed. Does anybody know an est on the car count for TS, TD, and comp? I noticed the field will allow 64 racers ......... but I just don't see how that large of a field could actually happen. Correct me if I'm wrong for thinking this: But the low 6 sec cars (which D3 is well known for) typically wouldn't want to go up against the (possible) more consistent mid 7 sec cars. So many of the low 6 sec cars wouldn't want to show. Am I was off for thinking that? I plan on arriving there Saturday around 10 and staying as long as he's having fun. I noticed there's quite a gap from 2pm to 4pm. If it's only 16 cars in SC, SG, and SST, is the SUPER ELIMINATOR SHOOTOUT really going to take 2 hours? Maybe b/c they plan on going through the entire bracket for each category? Give the winners enough time to refuel and check a few things before getting back in the staging lanes? I only ask b/c I'm not sure how he's going to be by that time of the day and I need a game plan. Maybe I'll show him the pits until TD comes back to the lines. I KNOW he'll like TD b/c ..... well ......... they're loud ..... and he likes things loud ....... again ....... like his daddy, LOL. So if you guys see a tall skinny dark haired 34 year old pushing a wide-eyed 3 year old in a stroller, feel free to make his day. Because you racers may not know this, but to a 3 year old (and most young kids), you guys are super stars. He doesn't care if you're not a 'professional'. He'll just want to watch and meet you. Just guessing here but mid 20s to low 30s in Comp, in the 30s in TS and TD. Div 3 is a pretty central location so that should draw a good amount of cars

Based on what I'm seeing on FB there are a lot of cars there and am guessing the qualified classes should have close (if not) full fields. My dad got in line at 7:00 this morning and hasn't moved (5.5 hours later) if that gives you any idea how many cars are on the grounds already.

No, just friends posting on FB.

I believe top dragster and top sportsman are allowing 64 cars to qualify instead of the normal 32 car field. I don't know if there will be 64 but I think there will be 40 in top dragster and 30s in top sportsman at least. We got here yesterday evening and we got in at about 10 this morning.

We are not a TD, just a lowly Stock eliminator car. But if you bring your son by our pits, we will let him sit in our pink Cuda and get his picture taken!! We are parked facing the river across from staging in about the middle! Patsy & Larry Hill 383 Stock

We'll try our best to stop by and say hello. I'm 99% we'll find the time. And I'm sure he'll love to get in the car. That would be a great memory and a photo for his wall for sure! Matt Hanley Hendersonville, TN 615.479.6134 |
