"Live From" zMAX Dragway Charlotte Double Header
 

Good morning everyone, welcome to the "live from" double header at zMAX Dragway in Charlotte. Not much going on today, I snapped a few shots of the 30 something rigs waiting in the holding area. They plan on moving us in at noon instead of 2pm.

I did run into Jim Bailey, the winner of the div2 race at Gainesville. It's always a pleasure to talk to Jim. Soft spoken, and always with a smile on his face, you know he is having a good time racing.

The weather this week is supposed to be picture perfect with clear skies, temps will be a little cool at night, upper 40's, but the daytime temps should be in the low 70's.

I will be back later with more info and photos as racers start to roll in. Test and tune set for a late start at 5pm running to 9pm.

Curious as to the car count? Know some will come overnight but what's your guess?

Hey Butch,

As of now I would say about 40 stockers and 40 super stockers. Not many testing, the super cars were having issues coming off the throttle stop getting a little loose Stockers looked to run okay as did the super stockers. I saw Jim Boudreau go a 10.03 at 131 with a head wind. Not sure what the air was, 800 to a 100ft I'm guessing.

The sun just went down, its getting chilly out. Tomorrow morning it will be cool, upper 40's low 50's for the cars that are first out. I just took random shots today. The Buick is cool as is the Mopar, Two cars I have not yet seen. Tomorrow we start at 9am, see ya all then.

Good morning all, chilly is the word for this morning. Temperature is 53 right now, going up to the mid 60's. The pits are filling up fast, and it looks like we will have a good turn out for the division race. Start time is set for 9, but I think it may be a little later due to the cold.

Not sure some of you know, but this a 2 day race, we get three shots today. First round starts with Super Street at 8am Saturday morning.
