The track is finally getting turned around and races scheduled for bracket and TT dates. They open this weekend for the first time since last year. I thought someone else had been selected from D4 to run the track?

I think D5 is doing well to get Scott and Laura as the Managers there. When They ran Cordova, they always supported our class racing events. I think D5 racers will be happy with them.

"Todd Stephens has been hired as general manager and vice president of facility and operations."

"Heartland Park, LLC today announced Scott Gardner has been named President and General Manager"

From two different press releases, the top one from January, bottom on from this week.

Seems like a conflict but it may be that Todd is General Manager of the drag strip and Scott the entire facility.

We ran at their first Test- Tune Saturday and things went pretty well considering mostly new operations people. All were very friendly and appreciative especially Darla at front gate who was “forcing” everyone to take a donut at sign in. The track stayed good all day considering all the street cars that were running.

From what we saw and heard they have lots of upkeep/ repair work to do all around the facilities to get it back in shape, but guess that what to expect when things are left unattended for a couple of years. Regardless it’s still a world class facilities and the consistent comment from racers was, “thankful someone has taken a chance and kept it open”.

Wrong again, from Topeka paper:

"Todd Stephens was named general manager of Heartland Park Topeka in early January, but HPT co-owner Chris Payne confirmed that Stephens is no longer with the track."

Good to hear Jim!!

The amount of repairs needed last August was unreal. Tower bathrooms were a mess and I was told copper had been stolen. It looks like the new owners are getting all motorsports programs going again, and that is great for the area.

Hope to see you in April at the open, I might be spectating, but we will see!

Glad to hear everyone has upbeat comments on the staff.

Sean
