Two Step Brake Pedal Solutions?
 

I have my two step wired to leave with the button mounted n the brake pedal but want to make sure it doesn't get reactivated at the finish line. Any one have a better method than just don't step on it?

mount a switch on the shifter to open the two step circuit when in high gear

Easy.........................

Put a micro-switch that is normally open (NO) on the shifter in the Low gear position that will close the circuit to the brake pedal mounted switch while in Low Gear only. The 2 step button will then work for your leave ONLY...........

The 2 step will only work in 1st gear shifter location.....

If you have auto-shift put the switch on the 2nd gear shifter location....

PS: There are a bunch of different ways to wire up an interlock to disable the 2 step in high gear....

I set my Falcon up with a 2 step 20 years ago. I have a simple switch on the dash that I turn off once in high gear. A switch on the shifter makes it simpler.

Not a fan of the button on the pedal. You have to get your foot off the button and the pedal. My Falcon has a brake light pressure switch that the 2 step is wire through. Like this. http://www.dearbornclassics.com/1964...1960-1965.html

My Chevy buddy drills and tapped his master cylinder for the brake light pressure switch and has the micro switch on the shifter too.

I run a setup that I was turned on to by West Coast Racer. The 2 step is wired thru a on/ off/switch then to Gem switch in the brake line. I set the GEM switch to turn on the 2 step on anything above 900 psi. I hold the car on the line at 1200 psi , when the brake psi drops below 900 off goes the 2 step. Now the great thing about this set up is , for some reason you had to hit the breaks you have to go over 900 psi to reset the 2 step. Anything over 500 psi on my car will have the car sliding all 4 wheels

I have done it with a momentary switch on the steering wheel. You have to hold it for power to go to the brake switch, Many ways, all good ideas,

start a poll to put it back on the steering wheel and not mess with all the crap to put it on the brake pedal

I guess a lot depends on rules.
I only bracket race so I put a brake pressure switch in the brake line that activates the 2 step. Obviously it will activate it down track so I first started with a toggle switch to turn the circuit on. That became a bit of a pain so I put a pushbutton on the steering wheel. I rest my thumb on the button for launch and just slide it off as i go down track.

Technically speaking, you can't use a hand operated switch or button anywhere in the system, in STOCK ELIMINATOR.
If you mount a micro switch to complete the circuit in low gear, and it is positioned where you couldn't leave the line off it, I don't believe anyone will bother you about it.
