Alex Denysenko "the wild Ukranian" has passed. Knowing he was a Christian should give us all comfort. How he got a reg 289 not even the hypo to run tens with an automatic is beyond me. He loved his Fords, but as he told me he was a Pontiac guy at heart as his older brother raced 421SDs for years. He was very instrumental in helping me launch the Pontiac RAV program www.ramairv.com He knew the old guys at Ford Racing who developed the Tunnelports. He explained the whole story and some unique info critical to our many successes. He emphasized how they discovered this technology worked and how much they were committed to it. Among many others, they won Nascar with it. It was when the Buckie Knudsen took Ford over that killed 12 years of R&D. We collaborated on many things where and why Ford had difficulty. My best memory was rooting for him sybsequently taking #1 qualifier at Martin against our rival followed by me putting the same guy on the trailer first round. We high fived in the staging lanes although I had to send Alex packing 3rd round. He said "I knew that black ugly Pontiac was comin!" He was a tough guy but a good friend. McCartys will miss him.

Re: Alex

My condolences to the Denysenko family for their loss.

Had a few conversations with Alex during my stocker build.
We had a few laughs about him growing up in an Italian neighborhood in Chicago and how after school his friend's moms would feed all the kids pepper and egg sandwiches complete with olive oil dripping all over their hands. Classic!
He was surprised when talking about he and his brother street racing back in the day that i knew about the "flying mile".

No matter how rough of a time Alex had the last few years he had a great life doing things that many just dream of!

RIP Alex!

I did see him get angry once......I put ketchup on a hotdog and I got a 15 minute lecture on the proper condiments of a Chicago style hotdog!
Always eager to help, even us Chevy guys.
Good Guy!

Re: Alex

I barely remember Alex racing at US 30 in Indiana many years ago as I was young at the time. When I came from AZ to the US Nationals at Byron I was greeted and felt very welcomed by Alex. I arrived early and he still let me in and park. The US Nationals that he put so much work into was a great race. Thank you Alex and God Speed
