Recommended RV ATF for Towing?
Hey Guys,
Quick question - is there a general "best" ATF out there for use in RVs when towing? I have a 34' Winnebago Itasca Suncruiser that I tow my 24' enclosed trailer with. It's a Workhorse chassis, so the service manual states that I should use Dexron III, but that has since been superseded by Dexron VI. I'm going to change the tranny fluid, and am wondering if I should just use any brand of tranny fluid that meets Dexron VI specifications, or is there a known "best" alternative for this type of application? That said, unless there is a specific recommendation, I will use a brand that supports our sport (Lucas Oil, Red Line, Amsoil, etc.) rather than just using a generic brand. Thanks in advance! Jason |
Re: Recommended RV ATF for Towing?
Amsoil has Signature Series atf that is a replacement for Dexron III. It what I use in my Dodge tow vehicle and have zero problems. However I change it every 30,000 miles.
