Rod Butcher's engines are being built by Tom Boucher (at one time Rod worked at Tom's shop).

Re: engine builders
It all depends on what year/combo 305. How much money do you want to spend?
Butchers car really fly's and has never failed a top end tare down. Lance and Jason Line really made a 305 malibu Fly in D5 Parson & Meyers Have has several fast running 305 customers Jim Lewis really knows how to make the 78-79 305 combo fly. I don't think you can go wrong with any of these guys. |
Re: engine builders
Add Allen Sherman at Trumble Racing Engines.
The husky guy is making some power! :) |
Re: engine builders
Thanks for the kind words, I'd like to think I can make one run pretty well also, I did officially run 11.26 in H/SA with a 1986 camaro 305HO carbureted combination in 1999 at the Memphis divisional and "unofficially" went 10.96 in hallsville texas at a winter series race that year also...that was under much more "stock" rules than we have today, would love for someone to turn me loose on one with today's available parts...

Re: engine builders
J Allen , You think that's fast for a 305 in Hallsville, I have you beat. We set the record in Hallsville in November 2, 1991 @ 10.90 but did not run fast enough to set the M.P.H. record in C/SA. That shows you what 135 more cubes can do in the hands of the inexperience. LOL
