Do grade points go with the driver or the car?

I wondered if the grade points go with the driver, or the car? Can grade points from a lower class, say SS/H, be used for a higher class?
Example, can the grade points for a say SS/H be used to enter a SS/AH, at a national event?
Thanks,
Dan

The points go with the driver. Points can be used to run any eliminator not just the one they are earned in, SS points can be used in Stock, SC, SG and so on.

A driver retains their points in a given eliminator, lets say Super Stock.
That driver can enter any class with the Super Stock eliminator and earn
points. Be sure at tech to let them know what division you would like the points to go to.

The car owner also earns points if the owner is different than the driver. Here's an example, you own the car and have a driver for it and he earns 4 grade points. You can enter the car using his grade points as long as its the same car and he is not entered in that eliminator. He must have listed you as the car owner on the tech cards at the points races he entered driving your car and it still has to be approved by the division director.

Its essentially one or the other like stated above. Driver can earn points or owner can earn points, whichever is designated at the event per the driver's tech card.

Grade points are earned via eliminator not eliminator "class". Unless this has changed in 2015 you can only use grade points on a higher eliminator not a lower eliminator.

I.E a Stock elimintor driver can earn stock points at divisionals and use them for Super Stock at a National Event however a Super Stock driver at a divisional cannot use them for Stock at a national event. This was the rule in 2013/14 as I used my Super Street grade points in Super Gas and Stock but I could not use my Stock grade points in Super Street.

You can use super stock points to enter stock, the only exception to the rule is super street. You can only use super street points to enter national events in super street. I've earned points in everything from Super Gas, stock, super stock and super comp and I have used those points to enter other category's.
