Cancer humor
I was sitting in the chair this morning, at my oncology center, getting treatment number 6 (I'm just getting started at this), and I noticed a couple items that put a little smile on my face.
The first thing was a sign that simply said: Whoever said winning doesn't matter never had to fight cancer! The next item was a pink T-shirt in the ladies' section that read across the front: Of course they're fake! My real ones tried to kill me! I'm sure I'll see more as my journey continues, but that's it for now, take care, all. Danny Durham |

Re: Cancer humor
Thanks Dale. I've been fortunate to meet many of our classracer.com family over the years, even had the chance to race a few of them, so I'm hoping to shake your hand some day as well. My travel plans are on hold for now, understandably, however I plan to get out there as soon as I'm able. Take care.

Re: Cancer humor
Danny, you and I both know laughter is the best medicine. Humor helps us get through these kinds of situations.
Positive attitude, like yours, will help a lot, also. It has helped my wife tremendously with her cancer. Whenever we talk, by phone or in person, it is a very enjoyable experience. We always have a few laughs during each session. It was great to see you at the car show last weekend, you looked very good and got around very well, all things considered. |
Re: Cancer humor
Danny, good luck with the treatments. I just finished 39 days of radiation, got to wait for PSA test in a couple months. It was hard to see the little ones who had no hair and were getting radiation too, they probably never knew what it was like to feel really good. Makes you apreciate all your good years after seeiing them.

Re: Cancer humor
Thanks , John. Good luck to you as well. I'll be continuing this plan of attack through May, when my progress will be evaluated and decisions will be made as far as tweaking or modifying my treatment. I hear you regarding the kids that are going through this, and I believe you're right that many of them don't know what it's like to be well. Take care.
Ron, you're too kind, and it was nice seeing your display and memorabilia. I'll catch up with you soon. Danny Durham |
Re: Cancer humor
Danny,
Keep the positive attitude! It inspires people to put their "problems" into proper perspective. Doing so helps others, myself included, to give thanks to God for the many blessings we often take for granted...like good health, family, freedom, and his saving grace. You are hereby designated a Class Racer Inspiration! Lydia and I will keep you in our prayers. Doug and Lydia Jonak |
Re: Cancer humor
Thanks for the kind words, Doug. It was great touching bases with you in Columbus last year at Michael's " 3 day party". Good luck with your racing season. Take care.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, John. Glad to hear you're on your way back to the staging lanes after that January setback. Positive is the only way to be. Whether healthy or sick, we all have to get up and face each day,, we all just face them differently. Take care.
