Not even a week or so after NHRA sent their letters to the cast.

He is from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma? I don't recognize him from the TV show. He would have a long drive from LA to OKC each week.

Re: Street Outlaws cast member charged with murder
I do understand why the post (related to racing) bad publicity. but the circumstances would be the same if someone driving normal had done this. just IMO.

Re: Street Outlaws cast member charged with murder
Isn't that a lllooooonnnnnnggggg stretch to charge someone whose vehicle didn't hit anyone?
I suppose the nanny staters are equating it with an accomplice bank robber who is there when his partner shoots someone to death? |
Re: Street Outlaws cast member charged with murder
Most states here on the east coast treat street racing very hard if something happens, accomplice.
Think of it this way, if there was no one to race, the driver would not have anyone to race, so he would not have killed those people. 2 guys were racing from a stop light in phila a couple years ago and 1 ran down a mother and baby in carriage, both were charged. |

NHRA did the right thing distancing themselves from the show before the media gets a hold of Street Outlaws and relates it to stories like these. |
Re: Street Outlaws cast member charged with murder
That guy is not a cast member . He was someone they raced on one of the shows from another City .

Re: Street Outlaws cast member charged with murder
I have have a lot different take than everyone else on this site
and probably elsewhere. I do not expect anyone here to agree with me. It is not a secret that for most of my adult life I was Vice President of the LA Street Racers ....and I supported myself through College by that racing often 5 or 6 Days a week in different part of So. Cal.. Often we would "Lock" our race or races up and quietly trailer our cars off the meeting area. We would sometimes tell bystanders we we heading back to the shop and could not get any action that night. A number of spectators were smart enough to figure we were going out racing and follow us. The Industrial areas we were going to were well known by most and well used. Although in thirty years no one was ever hurt and we picked streets to minimize people being close ( Often on Hilly Terrain /Well elevated for spectating)..... Of course they could have been hurt or killed just like I could have been I accept the blame for that possibility but so do should to spectators. A night in Jail or a trip to the Hospital or worse was not inconceivable. in FACT.......We ALL understood those very possibilities! However I have a different take than everyone else. When you follow us for to a race (Often Uninvited) ........YOU assumed a portion of the risk and knew the possibility of you getting yourself hurt or killed. If you find that unacceptable fine.....Just don't follow me out to the street race. You know what could happen by you standing there........just like I knew what can happen when I CHOSE to back my Hemi Dart off my trailer and lined it up. I wanted to do it and I ACCEPTED the risk and potential for disaster that transpired by that decision. I did that I did it with my eyes wide open! On the nights that I flagged off the race or just stood and watched............... I knew the risk of my actions and accepted the very real danger of what might of happened! The guys I watched race prepared and drove their cars to the best of their abilities, They did not go out to hurt anyone and no one forced me to go watch......I was a grown man and accepted the risks of being there and putting myself in harms way. By racing I was breaking the Law = 23109a Engaging in a speed contest. By even watching so were they = 23109b Aiding in a speed contest. Arguably we all were engaging a Felony . Conspiracy to commit a minor crime is a Felony > I was often told that when warned by Law enforcement. Again..............I do not expect a single person to consider much less agree with my position. I would never advocate anyone breaking any Laws.........But at least now you have the perspective to consider of someone who actually spent much of his life as a real life Street Racer.
