What COPO car was this out of? what is stamped on the block? Where is it located?

I was told the motor came out of a 1969 Corvette.... don't know that for sure. The date stamp is I 15 8, Sept 15 1968. I have some pics if you want to see them, give me an email address. The motor is in Roanoke, Va. Thanks
