Did anyone else notice ? ? ?
This years NHRA National event ( the 31st annual ) held at Maple Grove Raceway in October will again be called " NHRA Keystone Nationals " ..........To many of us this name is the only one we like to see attached to the fastest track in the country ! ! ! OK - so i'm a little biased to my home track but happy about it nonetheless .

Re: Did anyone else notice ? ? ?
The only reason the Keystones are back is that NHRA hasn't been able to sign a title-rights sponsor for the event, one of 8 currently on the schedule with no sponsorship. The Keystones will probably disappear from the name once again, if and when a title-rights sponsor is signed.

That's what I've always called it in conversations. Same goes for Englishtown , always called it the Summer Nationals.

They could still call it the Keystone Nationals sponsored by "Cialis" or "Victoria's Secret" or whatever.

Re: Did anyone else notice ? ? ?
The reason they usually drop the traditional names when have a title-rights sponsor is that having a traditional name makes it easier for the media to just call it by the traditional name without using the sponsor's name. If it's the ClassRacer Keystone Nationals, it's easy to just call it the Keystone Nationals, but if it's just the ClassRacer Nationals, they almost have no choice but to use the sponsor name.
