Has anybody tried 1990 Cadillac v8 FWD

I have looked in the guide, and a 1990 Cadillac 2 door Coupe DeVille with the 4.5 aluminum block v8 (273 CI) looks like a B/FS or a C/FS class car. Has anyone ever tried this combination. I know it has the aluminum block, and head sealing can be an issue, but has anyone actually tried to get one to "run the number". Does possibility "Yac" or professor Billy know anything about this one. Thanks for you input guys. Myron Stutes Columbus,Ohio -Class Racer in remission.

Many years ago, Mike Senia went really fast with a ? year Seville with a 4.1 V8 in it. Back then you weren't allowed to run a V8 in FWD classes so he had to run T+U/SA with it which made going fast even more impressive. Maybe Yac will chime in, I think that he was somehow connected to that deal.

Jim Wahl and Mike had Cadillac's here in Florida back in the 90's. They both were very fast and the FWD V8 was very quick and very cool. Jim is on this board and could help with the info.

Actually it was the late 80's.
I never worked on the V8 cars but I remember they were a PITA in teardown.
They had these iron sleeves that sort of floated in an aluminum block , until you put the head back on.
You needed a special tool to hold the sleeves down when you turned it over.
I also remember it sounded a lot like a 55 Chevy 265 Junior Stocker with Stahl headers!

Probably not a bad combo.
Just remember this : You get a bunch of index over the same class in RWD , where you 60 ft. it as hard as you can, keeping it hooked, then hang it's tongue out on the other end.
Not the way you want to go here...
