Re: Al-Anabi leaving racing
Now, if and when Force and or Schumacher ever pull the plug.....well, then,....that will be News. Perhaps a gallon of gasoline selling for 1.90 has something to do with this. M.J.

Btw, a gallon of regular is $1.76 here right now. Diesel is $2.67, I topped off my 100 gallon diesel motorhome tank at $3.39 a gallon before storing it for the winter, just knowing it would be higher this year. LOL Really think that is related? |
Re: Al-Anabi leaving racing
I would speculate that the lower oil prices are costing them money and running Fuel and Pro Mod teams is very expensive so something had to give. As a lifelong educator though I'm not familiar enough with the economic structure to say this with certainty so my opinion is nothing more than an educated guess. Living in Texas I have friends/family in the oil field business and they're complaining about how it's hurting their paychecks but from the consumer's viewpoint it's very hard to argue with gas under $2 a gallon. $1.94 here in East Texas.

Lets see they made bazillions off of us for 40 plus years, now oil prices drop and in 2 months they are broke?I really feel for them.LOL

Re: Al-Anabi leaving racing
Qutar is in the natural gas business, not oil.

Re: Al-Anabi leaving racing
I just think they probably had their fun and are on to another flavor of the week hobby. Not to mention that they built a nice facility of their own and have bought enough cars and knowledge to be able to race at their own facility - Pro Mods are going as fast or faster over there than they do here.

Re: Al-Anabi leaving racing
Acording to wikipedia "Qatar is the richest country per capita in the world, and has the third largest natural gas and oil reserves in excess of 25 billion barrels".

Re: Al-Anabi leaving racing
"Ceasing all motor sports activities in North America" has a political twang to it. Aren't they (Qatar) bickering with allies of ours right now? Egypt??
