SEMA Show NHRA Booth
My Post SEMA Rant.....One of the things that bothered me was that NHRA had a booth there, with stickers and membership stuff trying to promote their agenda,BUT NOT a mention of the Divisional or tickets for it or a flyer NOTHING! If they got just 10% of the crowd( most of which was there through the weekend) to go...that would be 10-15 THOUSAND spectators! Thats A Ton of exposure for us little guys! Come on NHRA figure it out!
Why is it with an exciting thing like a divisional going on in the same town, Those idiots dont know how to market and promote to a captive audience! |
Re: SEMA Show NHRA Booth
They don't care about Divisional s. They sell the program to the track and provide Tech and div. director support. It is up to the individual track to promote divisional races. But you are correct about not promoting the best car show !!

Re: SEMA Show NHRA Booth
One possibility is that some show contracts have a stipulation to not divert attendees to another event ( mostly hospitality rooms ), or displays offsite

Adger is 100% correct on his answer, same in nhra/ihra

Re: SEMA Show NHRA Booth
It baffled me too. It would have been really simple to have a poster or flyer with "This weekend" highlighted. There were lots of people from out of town who could have made it Friday if not on the weekend.
Even at the NHRA Breakfast on Wednesday morning they were promoting the Finals at Pomona but not the Vegas divisional. Since Shumi's fueler was too long for the booth and stuck out at the ends it would have been easy to replace it with a couple smaller Sportsman cars. There were some in other booths, the Todd Veney and Kris Hool alky funny cars, Chris Holbrooks CobraJet stocker, a new maroon SS/A 69 Corvette. |
Re: SEMA Show NHRA Booth
Was Tom Compton out front with a tin cup? Just wondering.

Re: SEMA Show NHRA Booth
I used to visit the booth every year but finally tired of them showing the fuel cars blowing up and crashing on a continuous loop on monitors through out the booth. Always wondered what the fuel drivers thought about nhra serving up a relentless show of fuel car carnage at the show.
