It's Official - Rockingham part of NHRA Division 2
 

NHRA announced today that Rockingham Dragway is now an NHRA sanctioned track and part of Division 2. Plans are to hold a Lucas Oil Series event there in 2015.

that place can be a lot like charlotte, very hard to get down at times. if they fix that, and get rid of all the burrs and cactus in the upper 40, then hopefully they will bring a national event there. I personally liked that place.

It's always a treat finding the burrs in your car and trailer a few months later!

They did some work to the racing surface this past year and its real nice and smooth but the rest of the facilities are a dump. Really gone down hill in the last decade.

As I remember the place is a sand pit but I have not been there for quite a few years.

Maybe NHRA will make Earwood put some money back into the facility. Back in the day it was nice but has gone down hill big time over the last 5 years. From the restrooms to painting the walls and buildings it needs a lot of TLC. On a positive note...it's great to have another Lucas race nearby to get a grade point...now if we could only get Charlotte to have a divisional!
