Jerry Bickel has the velocity stack that fits the air pan and also Quickfuel.
Quickfuel calls them air bells.

Jegs & Scummit aren't much cheaper. Listed on line.

Adger-- those are quick fuel brand also--- Barry Grant used to make them part # BG11004 but nobody seems to have them anymore--FED 387

Re: velocity stack ???

I've been using the Quick Fuel air bells on all my scoop installations for my customers cars
$32 from Jegs @ racer price.
The bell definatly makes a difference in straightning out air flow into the carb.
Last year I did several back to back tests on my Vette when trying new scoop's on the car.
the immediately noticable benefit for me was a solid 3/4 mph improvement on back to back testing with the same scoop.
The less noticable, except on the data recorder ,but more beneficial effect was the tightening of O2 variations from cyl to cyl.
Between a modern scoop design ,the air bell and better tray design,I picked up nearly 2 mph.

What would be the difference between a "velocity stack" and a "well rounded"
air cleaner base?

Re: velocity stack ???

The main thing is to have a radiused inlet above the carb .
Any radius is better than none , but obviously height and clearance come into play .
On a carb with an air horn , you would think a taller entrance would be beneficial .
I've not tried anything other than 2" on Dominators .

Re: velocity stack ???

I'm quite familiar with having a radiused entry point and the benefits of them too--will consider a well rounded air cleaner base also--anybody have one (base) or a source for a base for a dominator carb-just do not want a flat plate at the point of entry into the carb plus I'm using the stack as a point of attachment for the bottom plate on the scoop---I'm going to cut the velocity stack down to about an inch or so anyway--FED 387

Tom--I have drop center air cleaner bases and aluminum adapters to go from a 4GC/AFB/WCFB carb to a Holley 4150/4160 air cleaner base do you have any interest?? FED 387
