IHRA Piston Acceptance List, and classification help

How do you go about getting a piston on their list? My engine has pistons in it that are on the NHRA list but not on the IHRA list. I was wanting to goto the race coming up in Memphis but I see they are using IHRA rules and classes. The piston I am referring to is Ross 68063 for 90-98 Chevrolet 350 engines. I know its most likely too late to get it added for this race. But it would be nice to have it on there if I ever decide to goto a future IHRA race.

Also where do I find IHRA classification info at (class and HP)? Need info for a 96 Firebird with LT1 350, Automatic transmission and ram air hood.

Thanks
Rob

Rob,
IHRA uses the same specs and approved parts as NHRA does so there isn't any problem for racers crossing over. Exceptions tend to be HP factors/classification and, naturally, the IHRA specific classes, like Stock Crate Motor, GT, Pure Stock, etc. IHRA HP factors are usually the same or lower. They probably don't put it on their site for copyright reasons. If there still are any questions or concerns, you may need to contact IHRA tech for clarification.

Memphis has an upcoming class race?

Ok thats good to know. I will try and get ahold of IHRA this week to find out about HP factor, class ect.

The race in Memphis is being called Pre Thanksgiving Bracket bash. But they are having a Stock/Super Stock combo class along with it. Its Friday Nov 14 (Test and tune) and then a race each day on Sat and sunday (15&16). I think there is a flyer posted on this site in the events section.

Thanks again
Rob

Rob, I run my '98 Formula Firebird with Ram Air hood in B/FIA. At 9.0break and 325HP factor, the car needs to be 3095# with driver.
I believe the index is 11.55. 7.45 for 1/8 mile.

Rob, Correction.....1/8 index is 7.50 for the automatic.
