84 Monte Carlo SS Project
 

My oldest son has been biten. He has aquired a Monte SS. Wants a dual purpose Stocker/Bracket Car.
Any sugestions on Motor Combo.

Chip, 85 ..non SS 262, (4.3 V6) Same as Larry Hill's except for TBI
T or U/SA, if you're so inclined. No roll bar..No heads up runs.

Thanks for that idea.
Right now we are looking at a cratemotor combo to get his feet wet but want to do a traditional motor down the road.

I'm assuming since you are talking crate motor you are running IHRA. Might I recommend Stock GT. Newer cars with older motors, what is not to like! If I move back East, this is the class I would build for. Imagine, 1984 Monte Carlo SS with a 39....hell, a LS6 454. Might not fit the weight break but that would be a bad *** stocker.
