Live from Cecil County, MD - NHRA LODRS-Race#6

Good afternoon members and guests - today is test n tune day and my plan was to both test and report but things just got in my way once again .Later on when i arrive it'll still be going on and I'll pick it up then .Good news is I'll have a spot waiting for me ( and Ken won't be there to steal it again ) - yeah , save the speech about saving as I've heard it all before .

Lets talk about the weather some - today and all weekend the highs will be in the low seventies with plenty of sunshine and super blue skies everyday. So if you're on that fence about whether or not to leave my advise is to saddle up and head here pronto.

Action? There will be plenty tomorrow as not only will we be qualifing but the Atco Lucas race will be completed also - it'll be hectic but at the end of the day Wallys' will be handed out .

Soon I'll be Southbound on US 95 -- join us for the weekend ride ...............

FYI.... I will be there tomorrow through Sunday providing coverage for Northeastdragrace.com and DRC. Because they are running the Atco race, I will not be able to report Cecil event qualifying until after the Atco event is concluded.

I will get caught up on the Cecil County event as quickly as I can.

Jim

Good morning- and if you're not here yet get yourself on the road .Pits here are pretty full and level space is at a premium .Myself? Believe it or not three of the wheels on my coach are off the ground to make it level - looks kinda strange .But its home for the next few days .

Speaking of strange its a little weird considering that is August to be running the heater but when I woke up this AM it was barely sixty degrees -- good thing I stopped at the local Flying J for some propane on the way in.

While were on the subject - at this moment the temperature is 65 with 48 % humidity that will burn off for sure but the surprise is the barometer -29.60 which is very unusual for Cecil County - normally much higher here .

Last night Division One Director Mohn and the NHRA staffers decided to work on the track well into the night along with the workers from Cecil to grind on the track to make it perfect for us - thanks boys -- we noticed ! ! Hope they got at least a few hours sleep ..........

Today will be a busy one for sure - just check out the schedule at the botton .....And ClassRacer will be here for you ..........later .

Stock and SuperStreet got their first qualifier in and as the boys from New England would say "its wicked fast out there ".I'm sure some triggers were hit - I'll post sheets as they become available .All that and the numbers don't really show why it's fast ..............

Atco Stock and S/S -- What was to be the 1/4 finals turned out to be the semis when two didn't show up ( Yago and Rowe ) and 4 were left - it was Smith over Hockrun and Sepanek over Fetch .Seven left in S/S .

Yago and Rowe had already completed their run at Atco with Rowe winning.

Yep, somehow I missed that for sure - but congrats to Howard Smith for his Stock win and Miss Katie the runner-up .S/S-- Joe Santangelo for the win with a final round package of .020 over Herbie Null .Lil Joe averaged .018 on the tree thru six rounds of the eliminator .

One final thought on the Atco event - since I'm covering two races its been brought to my attention that Ken should be paying double this weekend - and if he ever shows up here I'll be sure to discuss it with him as I'm told he may make a guest appearance tomorrow for a quickie one hit and jump into the eliminator ...........we'll see ! ! !
