OEM Like
Can someone explain what "OEM Like" or "Same as OEM" in the rule book mean?

Re: OEM Like
OEM means Original Equipment Manufacturer. As in Ford, GM, etc.

Re: OEM Like
I think it means aftermarket replica of original equipment. Same as a Ford part but made in, um, China...

Re: OEM Like
Thank you Dale. The rule book says "NHRA-accepted OEM-type after market untis."
The part is not on any list of approved parts. So, I went out to NHRA seeking approval and my part was declined. Said it was "too exotic" for stock or super stock, and even comp cars. They have Camaros that cost hundreds of thousands of dollars but, are not considered exotic??? They said as long as my product were not used in class cars, it was okay to use. Meaning bracket cars like Pro and Super Pro. |
