Mile High Nationals
From the the looks of the entry sheet for Bandimere it seems like nobody in the sportsman ranks ( S/SS ) are going out of their way to attend. I had read last year about some hard feelings about poor treatment and parking. I guess bad memories are not forgotten.

Morrison. next nearest national event 550 miles in Topeka. Fair bbq. near the track at that piggy joint. Can't remember the name. I have been there many times. Not really a utopia...Yet to find a track or national event that is perfect. I have been to Englishtown new jersey. Garden spot? can't remember what exit is it? things in jersey are related by exit they are near aren't they ? guess they do have the Sopranos.. forget about it.....Did enjoy Jersey boy's movie by eastwood. Have you been to Morrison? or just hear say from your buddy's on the forum? as far as treatment the same orginization runs all national events I believe. track pretty much hands the keys to the property to them... |

Re: Mile High Nationals
The last two years everyone seems waits to the last few days to sign up.
Are there better place to pit? There are, but the track is top shelf. If you can go fast there you can go fast ANYWHERE. :D There will be more drivers to sign up, I'm just suprised only 3 in SS.:( |
Re: Mile High Nationals
I have family living in the vicinity of bandimere. My niece went to the jet car nationals there 4th of july and said it's a beautiful track. She had gone w me to the Empire Nationals for over 10 years in Rochester before she moved west. She knows a nice track, lol.
I think she will take her mom, my sister and 2 of her sisters back for the nationals while the yvisit out west. I recommended Friday for them. I don't think they would put up w 10 hours like they did when they were little and I visited up in Rochester and brought the whole family there to the empire nats. Pictures of the facility are pictureseque to say the least from a Long Islander point of view. Have a great and safe time all. I will go next year when work allows. |

Re: Mile High Nationals
Put the spectators in the back 40 and let the racers pit down below like they used to. Face it the Mile highs will never be the same, they just do not care about the sportsman racers anymore. I can remember back in the 90s they almost had a 100 SS cars and almost that many stockers , times have changed and not for the better. Its bad when even the locals will not race this event. I will also add the fact that other than the tower there is not a place to wash your hands, no showers and has nothing but porta podies. Look at what Topeka has or Brainard has for there racers and have had for a lot of years. Tom

ever be the same anywhere ? national events rarely fill quota's any where anymore. Stock and SS seem to have little interest with younger racers esp. in addition to many other reasons for suffering participation. div. 4 used to be huge, dallas, houston. not so much anymore. |
