VP-C10

I run VP C-10 unleaded fuel and have neglected to purchase any before my trip to the Cajun Sportsnationals. I'd like to purchase two 5 gallon pails somewhere along the route. On Monday, I'll be travelling along Interstate 81 from Staunton VA to Knoxville TN, and then west along I-40 to Cookeville TN. On Tuesday, I'll be travelling I-40 west to Nashville, and south on Intestate 65 to Birmingham. On Wednesday, I should be on I-59 to New Orleans and I-10 to Belle Rose. If anyone knows of any distributors and their phone numbers close to that route, it would be a big help. I called VP, but they only have the regional distributor's information. My e-mail addresses are ggay@bdrtransport.com or greggay1@comcast.net, or post here. Thank you.

I called Pat at No Problem and he doesn't carry C10. The big distributer for VP is in Atlanta. (770-598-3325) You could come thru Atlanta down to I 65 then I 10 at Mobile it's a nicer ride then I 59. I hope this helps.

Thanks, Greg. I need to be in Cookeville TN on Tuesday, so I was hoping to find the gasoline close to that route. I appreciate your help.

greg is c-10 better than c-11??????????

Greg Gay 04-13-2007 02:44 PM

I was experimenting with an A/F ratio meter. The literature claimed the sensor would get damaged by leaded fuel. So, I switched to unleaded fuel, but never really finished with adjusting the jetting. I just stayed with the unleaded. I have since heard that our cars run so breifly that it would take a lot of runs to burn out the sensor on leaded fuel. I can't really say which is the better fuel.

I think there is some C10 available in Houma (we are 45 mi from the track). If you like, I will check tomorrow. I probably got a couple of jugs I could bring you, course it will cost you a six pack-cold.

Contact Jimbo Fields in Nashville TN. He should be able to hook you up with most VP products. I don't have his number handy, but I'm sure someone will know how to reach him. Our local dealer doesn't have anything but C-12 and maybe C-14 as far as I know. They're usually out of that.

Jeff, I could swing through Houma and pick it up if you like, or if you could bring it to the track, that would be great. Please check for me. BTW, isn't Houma the home of Candies & Hughes?

Alan, if you could get Jimbo's phone number, that would be a good backup plan. I was going to leave on Sunday morning, but now we're thinking of leaving Saturday around noon to beat the snow. I will check back here, but you can reach me at B-D-R, 800-421-0126, or on my cell at 802-384-3949. Thank you both.

Greg, We have about 15 gallon of C-10 parked up in Charles Town WV. I am at school, but I might be able to arrange for you to get some if you need. If you cant find anyone else it is about 2-2.5 hours up the road from Staunton. Where are you located?

Les,

I'm coming down from VT, so I'll take I-78 to Harrisburg, and then I-81 South. I think I'll be pretty close to Charles Town around 5:30 PM on Sunday. It is not real critical that I get C-10, but I just wanted to stay with what I've been using and avoid contamination problems, and not passing gas check. I have also found a couple of phone numbers on the internet for Jim Fields in Gallitin TN. One of them must be Jimbo. I saw he was racing in GA this weekend, but maybe he'll be available Monday night. Thanks again for all the help.

Greg
