Chrysler-Carter AFB ....I.D. help
 

I recently took in 2 carter AFB's on trade that were on a sbc edelbrock 2-4 intake...there are a couple of differences between them that make it look as if they were made to be run as a 2-4 set up.But only info I can find shows them as single 4 set ups....Numbers that i have found are: Front carb was 6-1771........1x.......0-1431.....4131S w/ date code G5(July '65) good 'ole interweb says "383/426".........
Rear carb was 6-1540.....2...0-1431.......3437 SB w/date code AL 2(would assume Jan of '62 but the "L" throws me off)...that one says '61-'63 383 Police Special......Need someone to maybe clarify as these are before my time and seem to be Chrysler.....Thanks in advance,Vic Penrod......my number is 580-591-1947 or can reply here

From Chrysler Corporation part and casting number book:

• 4131S = 1966 383 or 440 auto trans. Single 4 bbl application.
• 3437S = 1962 383 auto or manual trans. Single 4 bbl application.
