Low travel Hydraulic lifters

IWhat's the best way to adjust the PPS low travel lifter's. I've been tightened them down until I can just feel a little resistance on the pushrod and not depressing the lifter any at all. But this sure feels a little loose to me and it looks like it would be hard on the snap ring. Would it be better to bottom the lifter out (.012 thousands) and maybe use a .005 feeler guage to set them in the middle of their travel. Thanks for any help.

I have a new set too and I would like to know the same info from a PP user directly. I was told to take them all the way down to the bottom of the travel and then back up until there is a slight spin on the push rod. I like the idea of using a feeler gauge better and your method sounds good if we can get some serious input from a PP rep or engine builder. Thanks for asking.

I adjust the low travel lifters where I can spin the pushrods with
fairly high effort but not visibly pushing the plungers down at all.

Where to you buy these lifters with that short of travel?

I have the scorpion short travels, we are adjusting them by going to 0 with resistance on the pushrod, then 1/8 turn. Seems to work. Another fellow here had made a toll to hook on rocker and bottom them, then check lash with I think a .010 gauge, it was a supreme pita to check/adjust. He now doing the way I described with no difference in hp or et.
