Explain to me "Junior Stock"
As a kid I started going to the drags in the 70s and everything was Stock or Super Stock. Having an older brother with gear head friends along with always reading old car magazines I've always heard or read the term "Junior Stock" but never quite understood the true meaning.
Stock and Super Stock rules have always loosened up as time has gone on so where was Junior Stock in relationship to Pure Stock back in the 60s? I love history and would like to understand the true evolution of Stock Class racing! Thanks for your input!! |

Re: Explain to me "Junior Stock"
:) :) :) Probably the best book you can get on this subject is by Doug Boyce. It was published in 2012 and is titled "Junior Stock - Drag Racing the Family Sedan." The book covers 1964 thru 1971 and has a ton of pictures and lots of info. It can be bought from Amazon.com or from your local Barnes and Noble book store.

Charlie A. I have looked at the link that you provided and found it to be VERY good reading and lots of pictures also. Some of the pictures don't show up on my computer, I guess they have been deleted. Still a VERY good sorce of info from the junior stock era. |
Re: Explain to me "Junior Stock"
I figured they were different but thought it was unusual they used the same subtitle. Thanks guys!
