Tracy Dennis
Just read over at bracket talk that Tracy Dennis of Sunset Racecraft passed away, I am shocked and saddened.
Tracy was not only my engine builder but someone I considered a friend. Condolences to his family and friends. WE lost one of the best at what he did! Thanks for all you did for me Tracy. |
Re: Tracy Dennis
Sad deal. When I heard the news I thought of you as I know you have spoken highly of him many times. Sorry you lost your friend.

Re: Tracy Dennis
understand through news reports he was shot by his ex-wife, who then turned the gun on herself......very sad...

Re: Tracy Dennis
He would not have been known much by the Stock/SS racers but hey he was a well known engine builder and racer. Anyone that did business with him or just spoke to him once came away feeling like he was a good man to do business with and he was.
I did business with his shop a little and spoke to him at length one evening on the phone. I am sorry I never got to meet him and even more sorry to learn of this tragedy. How and why it happened is probably very complicated but suffice it to say it is a tragedy, period. |
Re: Tracy Dennis
It is and has left me who was only one of his many customers feeling sick. It's obvious based on the many posts, on numerous forums and Facebook from those that were as well his customers and some that were not but had an opportunity to speak to him, that he was always willing to help, went out of his way to make it right and made all feel like their engine/their program was his #1 priority.
I'm not a religious person but our thoughts and prayers should be with his kids and I hope that Tracy's closest friends and business associates will rally behind his son, daughter, family and employees to see that Sunset Racecraft continues on, with the same unmatched reputation for customer service and for building the best sportsman engines, honoring the man that did so much for so many in super class racing as well bracket racing. Re: Tracy Dennis
From his son Jason's Facebook page...
"Rip my father, my best friend and the most helpful and under standing man I ever knew... Glad I got to spend your last day by your side do what we love. I've got a huge shoe to fill if I can be half the man you were I'll be fine... I love you Dad!!! This is for you hope I make you happy!" http://i381.photobucket.com/albums/o...psb04efc7d.jpg His service is tomorrow. |

Re: Tracy Dennis
A tragedy indeed, I met Tracy once or twice, he was, by every measure I saw, a good engine builder, a good racer, and a good business man.
