God bless and keep.

Re: RIP Gary Ostrich
Wow, only 68 years old. Heck of an engine builder. I remember him best with his SS/DA Hemi Cuda (1970), when he won class at Indy in 1970 against tons of other new Hemi Cudas.

How sad, I used to see him at Division 5 races back in the sixties, nice guy and a lot of fun.

Re: RIP Gary Ostrich
Sad to hear another one of the guys I grew up admiring has passed.
My buddy Dave and I, used to watch Jack Briner wheel that SS/DA Cuda at Eddyville, back in the 70s. The engine in that car popped like an old John Deere, after the burnout, before staging. It had a beautiful paint job, and was a featured car in many mags. I think Del-Star did the paint. So was Chuck the original driver? I see his dad's name was Charles? A google search will show lots of pictures of the Cuda. Obit is online here: http://amestrib.com/obituaries/gary-...945-feb-3-2014 |

On forabodiesonly.com, there is a thread about 1968 440 Darts. Someone posted some photos of Dick Landy's Dart and it happened to include Gary Ortrich's Cuda. RIP
