Trailer tool box and tire rack.
Does anyone know of a company or individual who builds a big tool box and tire carrier for an open trailer. Thanks. Claude Ruel

Re: Trailer tool box and tire rack.
In the past when I had an open trailer I had a work site gang box bolted to the front of it it held the winch, spare tire, battery all of my tools and was wide enough to keep most of the spray off of the race car. Knaak, Greenlee Ridgid, Husky and Job site all make them I would look on E-bay or Craigslist for a used one. :)

I'll second that worksite tool box idea. I special ordered a 6' version and mounted it on the front. The epoxy finish holds up well and the set-up to padlock it is a lot more secure than what can be fabricated in most cases. Gotta measure the internal dimensions to insure that your particular tires & fuel jugs will fit.
I also installed a deck on the tongue to help get to it. I figured if the box opened on the car side, it could increase the chances of the car getting dinged when loading & unloading stuff. Do they have Home Depot, Lowes, etc. in Canada? |

It depends on how much you want to store in there. I bought a box from Tractor Supply & it was 60" long by 24" wide. They are nice & it had a lock on it, found it on ebay. But if your looking to put tires on top than that's not the box for you. |
