Stalling after Burnout in S/C Dragster

Hey Guys, Geoff from Australia back again.

The big block (468) Dragster with the 1050 Dominator seems to get real rich after the burnout and the idle stumbles, black smoke out of the pipes and it dies then won't re-start, seems real rich on idle and after the burnout (the girl gives it **** in the burnout) it stumbles and dies.

Idle set at 1200 rpm (thinking it needs more) but setting the idle circuit mixture, is it still all the way in then 1 1/2 turns out? Been a LONG time since I had a carb, been an Enderle man for over 15 years now and I got a foggy brain.

As always thanks in advance for everyone's help.

Sounds like fuel is sloshing out of the vent tubes and into the carb when braking or shake after burnout. Try a hose connecting both of them with a hole drilled in the very top to allow air in.

Is this an 8896?

Drop your float levels or put a 1050 Quick Fuel Throttle stop carb on it and get rid of the stock Holley. Some 8896's are killer some are not. We have lots of good TS carbs here
