Sportsman Entries For Indy

From Comp. Elim. on down to Super Gas.

Did anyone see or count how many cars other than Div. 3 cars are entered for this race ?

Not Very Many. If Div. 3 Cars didn't enter you would be lucky to have maybe 60 from all
of the other divisions.

Comp Elim doesn't even have alot of cars entered.

Comp is a different sportsman animal. With the cost of travel and a weeks stay, its tough for a car that can't run within .15 of the top to win. Not that it cant be done, but tough. As for S and SS its not so bad. Make it into the 128 and barring heads up, anyone can win.
Also the out of division numbers are not quite as bad as you think. Over 60 SS and 70 S cars from outside Div lll. Its just getting too expensive to travel long distance for many.

Stewart, When i looked at the entries there were only 100 Stk entered, now theres 135.

Yes the total of out of Div. 3 has climbed.

And yes, it is toooo expensive to travel.

To run my rig its $1.00 a mile. Bowling Green is 1125 miles then Indy 250 then back to Boston 975. Add entry fees to both races with crew and were over $3000. The traveling cost is the killer for sure but this will be our first time racing class at Indy= priceless!

Hey Pistol Pete!

If you look at the entries for any national event, the majority come from whatever division the race is in. I bet 95% of the sportsmen cars at Brainerd this weekend are from Division 5. That is why they spread out the national events over all the divisions!

As Indy rapidly approaches are there likely to be many S/SS entries to be added in the next week and a half ? I don't see some of my favorites listed so far ...

Tim, Rampy, Biondo, and Fletcher will enter for sure. Also Anthony Bertozzi is a possibility.
