Which pts meet would you delete?
If you had the power to remove a points meet from the schedule in your Division, which one would it be and why? Maybe with enough input your division director will listen and move the event to a better track. Or at least force the track to make improvements!!!!

Re: Which pts meet would you delete?
In D1 we have a pretty good amount of tracks with 3 of them holding National Events in Epping, Maple Grove & E-Town and I think it's only a matter of time before we see Virginia come back on the map with a National. I think if you asked most racers now in D-1 with Epping being on the schedule would be to move Virginia to D2 (Since it's very close to the NC Boarder) to give them something not in the lower states of Fla, Ga or Tn and maybe give Charlotte back it's Divisional. I know the 1st one wasn't successful to Bruton but, there was a hurricane coming up the coast so most racers we're worried about their personal things then racing. This way you have a well spread out map for D-2.
The other tracks would be Atco, Cecil & Leb Valley. I guess if there was one track that might need improvements and a lot of racers complain about is Leb Valley or Cecil. but, we can't expect every tack to be at National Event caliber with the facility's. I guess if we had to add a race would be to bring back Numidia. The track held divisionals up till 2004 and it was a play ground for a lot of D3 racers to come, jump the Ohio boarder and use it as an out of divisional race. |

I'd trade Fallon, NV to get Famoso (Bakersfield) back on the calendar in a heartbeat.

Re: Which pts meet would you delete?
I would get rid of all points meets and have Sportsnational events at National event facilities with National event payouts.

Re: Which pts meet would you delete?
I 'vote with my feet' and attend the events of my choosing, as do others. Therefore, the free market decides which events are viable. I also seek to create and/or support independent events that fill an underserved need in that marketplace.

Re: Which pts meet would you delete?
In Div 4 I would do away with any Points Race that is scheduled too early and too late in the year. Here are a few of the reasons, but just my opinion, on why all Div 4 events should be held during the mild Summer months down here..
During the early Spring and Fall months there are just way too many racers entered, the weather is great, the track is superior, its not dusty enough on the pit roads, and because of the weather you have to wear long sleeve shirts and jackets and sometimes its down right cold (30-40 degrees if you can believe it), your car will run way too fast, people even have open fires and sit around drinking beer until way too late at night and you have way too much fun, which can lead to oversleeping and running late the next morning. Makes more sense to me to have them in June, July and August ????? Sure makes sense to me...... RJ |

Better to sweat a few lbs off than have fun, right RJ? LOL

Re: Which pts meet would you delete?
After racing at Stanton last weekend I heard several Racers say they would not go back there untill the track was repaved. I will say it was pretty rough in spots and several cars had trouble getting down it. I say every year that I won't be back, Yet I still go back there. Nice people just a crappy track. I would like to see Stanton replaced with St Louis or some where else. :(

Re: Which pts meet would you delete?
Delete? Really? Send them over to Div 7. We don't have enough races or enough tracks. California is the largest and most populated of all 50 and has the fewest tracks. Those tracks are upwards of 400 miles from Los Angeles.
To all those racers who live in a div with a full schedule of opens and points races, count your blessings. |
