Where did this super stocker go?
 

1988 Ford Thunderbird turbo coupe GT/GA. Does anyone know where this super stocker lives now? It use to be Dale Shannon's. The last time I saw it it was for sale.

Dale Shannon sold the car to a Long Island racer named Bob Hammel in I think '98 or '99, if memory serves me correctly. Bobby ran the car for a few years, then parked it and eventually sold it. However, I haven't spoken to Bobby in a while and don't recall who he sold it to.

Vic Guilmino bought a GT/GA T'bird a few years back... might it be that one?

Vic's car was (I think) Mike Graham's from California.

2009 or so, a racer had the old S&B T-bird at my race at Hagerstown MD in November (Keith Wariner). Not sure who had it after him (maybe Keith still does?), running brackets at H-town.

I think originally that Dale Shannons car was built by a guy named Kent Widmer that raced a stocker 427 fairlane previously. I had heard that Jerry Bickel did the chassis but I am not completely certain abut that. The tbird was originally built as a modified car with a 429 or 460. Then Ray Paquet bought it and traded it to Dale for Dales stocker Mustang. Dale first ran a 351c in it and then went to the 460.

There is just something about that year of T-Birds that they just look right as drag cars. :D
