NHRA Expands Factory Stock Showdown

Hopefully, this will increase interest and participation. Even though only 9 cars participated at Indy last year, I thought it was a good show and I enjoyed it thoroughly. This makes my annual trip to E-town and Indy even better. I already have my tickets for the 4 Wide Nationals next month; if I didn't I would go to Charlotte in Sept. instead of April. |
Re: NHRA Expands Factory Stock Showdown
So now they have fixed the indexes so all the new cars qualify for Indy. Last year they all ran on a 9.90 index and now they get .30 back and the non-supercharged cars get .60. So what are they going to give all the carb cars? How about .80 for old technology so we can make the show?
Englishtown and Charlotte won't be qualified fields, but Indy will be a big problem and it is just wrong! |

Re: NHRA Expands Factory Stock Showdown
Great photo I agree. Last year at Indy was great to see the finals ran with a pair of CJs infront of a pair of Hemi cars the Hemi Shootout finals. I thought that was appropriate to see the New and old cars staged together.

Sam I think that is great for a show at all national events. My main point is that it will give the 2008 up cars a 0.3 softer index that have a blower or the V-10; and soften the index of the N/A cars by 0.7. It looks like if the "new cars" will start, move, and make some sort of exhaust noise they will be in the field of 128. I for one do not want to be on the outside looking in @ Indy because NHRA swayed the rules for Factory Stock Showdown like last years pro stock motorcycle. |
Re: NHRA Expands Factory Stock Showdown
Anybody wanting to qualify at Indy with an older car might have to build a Pickup Truck.
