Question for IHRA Pro Am Stock/SS racers : record setting
I have read on this forum where IHRA will allow a racer to go thru tech teardown on the Friday before a 2 day Pro Am race. Then they seal the engine. If you set the record, they check to make sure the seals have not been broken.
My question is this: Since there are 2 seperate races that weekend, could someone set a record on Sat. in one class and another class record on Sun in another class ? All of this with the Friday seals still intact. Just curious. Would be nice to do that and also be able to run eliminations. :) |

I do not think so because , If I am correct you can only set a record in qualifing. The sunday race only has one qualify session.

Your seal is good for the rest of season as long as left intact.
You can only set one record @ a double because there is only one qualifing run on second day,so no run to back up,has to be during qualifing. I like tear down on Friday because when going through teardown,if there is something that is'nt just right you have chance to correct it,and most of time you can make test-n-tune run that evening and know you are ready for record runs. You can change classes from one day to the next, just no record second day. If a race had 2 qualifing passes on second day then I'm sure you could set record that day also, but always have 1 pass on second day. Mike Taylor 3601 |

O.K. Thanks.
I wasn't aware that Sunday only had 1 qualifying run. |
