Ain't got nothin' to do with S/SS, but it was fun!

I finaly got to drive a Caprice police package, unmarked to boot! It was FUN! I would take one of the new 2014 Impala SS's, but don't put a governor on it.

Next on the list is one of the new Dodge police packages. We will get one in the shop, soon!

How "HOT" is the police package?? Would they run a 12 or under? I assume they have a handling package.

I have driven most brands police models. I do some work for a few of small town Police Departments and sometimes county stuff. And untill 10 years ago when I went into business for myself. Its all I worked on as I was employeed as a Police fleet mechanic. The biggest advantage that they have in a chase is still the radio. You can still scare the poop out of the GM rep with them. I was invited to some demos when they were bringing them out to show them off and try and get departments to switch brands. When the GM guy came they would take us out 1 or 2 at a time and let us test drive them. The guy in my car was just lolly gagging around like they were test driving grandmas caddy. When I got my chance I asked "Can I drive it like a rookie officer ". I wanted to see what it could do and did not cut it any slack. When we got back one of the guys told me I had balls for driving a car like that with the GM rep sitting next to me. The GM rep looked at him and said "Its ok what he did is nothing compared to the abuse some of them will get when they are put in service, I just wish I had known what he ment when he said drive it like a rookie officer" It was also the only time in my life that I was able to do stupid stuff in a car in front of a cop with no fear. Which was kind of fun.
