IHRA Border Bandits
 

What are the thoughts of IHRA racers in western Canada now that we have guys in the south eastern U.S. taking advantage of the points loop hole and claiming your division by running Immokalee and Memphis? They can hit 8 races here to get their top 5 where its only realistic for you all to hit 4 events.

I thought there was a rule stating you had to run both bandit races to qualify for points. I went to Immokalee and claimed Div1. As per rule clarification 2/21/2013 on IHRA website, only in Division races count towards point total for Div 6 (4) races.

Long Tow?....If I have read this right

Due to its geographic location and the costs associated with traveling to any out of division events, the Border Bandits divisional schedule will continue to be limited to 4 in-division claiming events to determine the end of the season points. As was the case since inception of Division 6, there will be no out of division claims factored into any scores.

Imokolee and Memphis are "wildcard" races that count as an in division race for any racer.

This is not the first time its been done. Racers used to claim division 5 that didn't live in that geographical area.


My only question is that I thought your car number had to at least start with a 6 if you were claiming division 6.

Please allow me to put this to rest before it gets blown way out of proportion as seems to be the case. Before stirring the pot it would probably do everyone interested to find out the facts before getting everyone all riled up. Since I am one of the subjects I feel I am a very good source to get the facts straight. You have to run 4 in your division and thats it.no outside claims and the wild card races do not count (only in the div. 6 instance.) All points you see for the 3 that are listed will be credited to their respective home div. It just takes a little time to get the net adjusted to reflect this.So I hope this clears things up so everyone can now sleep better . thank you . jim woods div 2 #2243 stock.

IHRA dont need to leave such a big loop in the loop hole.......I am guilty I helped them write the new rules..
