very sad news of norm fryer dying the other day.people remember him with his 69 camaro {007}RAN IN COMP IN HIS LATER YEARS!also had a 66 chevy .ran SS-D with his 69.also ran pro stock with it.

Norman A. Fryer, 74, of Williamstown, on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at his home with his loving family at his side. Born in Camden, Norman was a lifelong resident of Williamstown. Norman was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Norman owned and operated Norman Fryer Automotive, Inc. since 1975. He was an avid race car driver for "007". Norman enjoyed farming and hunting. Predeceased by his loving parents Edward and Anna Fryer Sr. Beloved husband of Phyllis (nee Tarallo). Devoted father of Philip Fryer (Michele) and Cindy Fryer (Tony). Loving grandfather of Taylor Fryer. Dear brother of the late Jane Fryer and the late Edward Fryer. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the BELL-HENNESSY FUNERAL HOME, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Funeral Services will be held 12:30PM at St. John's Lutheran Church, 1002 S. Main St., Williamstown. Interment will follow with Military Honors at the Gloucester County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Williamstown. Two weeks ago I mentioned the passing of Ken Montgomery and today I am sad to mention another great who has passed. Norm Fryer, who drove the famous "007" Chevrolet back in the late 1960's and 1970's passed away earlier this week at the age of 74. Norm was one of the first real superstars of East Coast racing and was a familiar figure in the winner's circle at Atco, Englishtown and Cecil County as well as other drag strips along the East Coast. With a 427 cubic inch engine and a four-speed transmission there was a lot to like about the Chevy Biscayne and with a great smile and a wonderful personality there was a lot to like Two weeks ago I mentioned the passing of Ken Montgomery and today I am sad to mention another great who has passed. When match racing was big tracks used to book Norm in to take on some of the top Ford and Chrysler cars of the time, and more often than not he came out the winner, and his races with Rich Morley's Ford were a lot of fun to watch. When he travelled to the national events he was one of the top Chevrolet cars in the country and everyone at Atco took a lot of pride in seeing him win at the big races. He competed in a variety of classes in Stock, Super Stock and Competition Eliminator and he won in them all, plus he set the national record several times and he did that in a couple of different classes too. Norm was one of the greats and he will be missed. about Norm.
