My 67 Shelby updates

Well I figured I would be the first to post in the new section. Please feel free to post your builds or updates. Make sure you start you own thread and title it as your own, don't add to this thread unless you have questions or comments on my updates.
When the season ends I am always looking to update my race car. Whether its small or large, I always like to do something in the off season. My first update was to add a power cut off handle inside the car. I can't tell you many times I have gotten into my car and forgot to turn on the power. Every year I tell myself I am going to put a handle in, but never seem to get around to it. Well this year I did. I took a piece flat stock 1/4 inch aluminum and cut to size and drilled some holes to make it look nice along with a contour for your hand. I used another piece flat stock to act as the lever on the cut of switch. It worked out great and I could not be happier. The next update was the dash. Greg Kelley from MOTORSPORTS Innovations hook me up with a Racepak Dash unit. He is a Class Racer sponsor and is great to deal with, if you need any help with Racepak products, he is the man to go to. I love new technology and always wanted one in my car. I already have a Racepak data logger so the install was as simple as plugging into the Racepak logger and it recognizes all sensors. I get oil pressure, water temp, air fuel ratio, volts, fuel pressure and of course a tach. I can also add more if I wish. I left my old tach in place just in case I don't like the way the shift light works. I don't use a shift light, but the new dash has 5 lights on each side of the top part of the dash, they go from green to amber to red so you can get ready for the shift. You can set how fast the lights comes on. If it works well I will get rid of the old tach. Well that's it for now, if I do anymore updates, I will be sure add to this thread. |

Re: My 67 Shelby updates
Love the inside power cutoff setup. Is that a transmission cable that hooks it all up?

Re: My 67 Shelby updates
Dion,
Yes, its a shifter cable. You can uses shifter brackets to hold the cable or fab something up. Its a fairly simple job. |
Re: My 67 Shelby updates
.....OR, if your fabricating skills are lacking, the folks at Lokar make a nice alternative. :)
