"Reality shows" are they for real?

'Storage Wars' star Dave Hester says show is fake, suing

This isn't much of a surprise for me. And since I am generally not very much a fan of reality shows anyway, it begs the question: Are they real?

I see them simply as giving the performers permission to act badly in front of the world.

Shows like "crazy bitxxy brides", and "somebody loves somebody else, while sleeping with someone different" are downright awful. It is not realistic, that people would allow others to treat them that way.

These shows are all simply orchestrated fakes....

Except of course for "Gold Rush".

Yea that is real, that's the ticket....

Rasslin's real . I sometimes used to watch the Auction hunters ( I think that's what it's called with Haff and Ton ) right at the start of the show they say it's made up , but representative of what they have found over the years. Only fools would believe it wasn't scripted. ---Trevor

I used to date a woman who was an actress who specialized in commercials. She would play the woman on the street, at the grocery store. the woman on the street, etc. In other words she played the part of the "ordinary" citizen in the commercials. She worked off of scripts and rehearsed her role for the commercials.

I've been to the Pawn Shop in Vegas and the main characters don't even work there, they only come in when it's time to shoot an episode.

Even if they start off as real amateurs they are fed situations, scripts and directed until they are actors.....nothing is real on TV, it's all fantasy.

On the subject of commercials it drives me up a wall when you hear a commercial, especially when it's child related. The little kid talking in the commercial is really a woman talking.Talk about dishonesty.
