Jack do you still have the two time slips in question?? Make some copies and send them to the Div 2 Tech Director and also to Glendora or Indy?? I think I had something like that happen in 2003 and they straightened it out.. Good Luck

RJ

Merry Christmas

Some body correct me if I am wrong! The record rule is, or at least was, you have to make 2 runs within 1% of each other for the faster one to stand, that means you would have had to go 13.95 to back up the 13.82. But the 13.82 will backup the 14.00. This is exactly what happened to me back in 1980, at Green Valley Texas. I went 10.90 for the SS/K record, but could only go 11.05 on the back up run, which still got the record at 11.05. When I tore down, I found half the ring land gone on number 6 piston, We buttoned it up, and still ran 11.05, in 3 rounds of eliminations.

Same thing happened to us at Calgary mid 90's, 1st run set the record then it rained, waited all day the rain stopped, cold front moved in picked up over a tenth 2nd session, no third session to back up the faster run so i got the record based on the 1st run using the 2nd run as back up.

Been there and done this Jack. Your backup of 14.00 isn't within 1% of the 13.82. The 13.82 IS within or better of the 14.00. Therefore the record is a 14.00. You would have needed a 13.958 to back up the 13.82. Sorry, as I said, been there and done that! Jim

Re: help with gainesville record

Same thing almost happened to me in Reynolds. Tested on Thursday. Friday morning the starting line went away and lost over a tenth of et. Second run ran as fast as I did on Thursday. But third run spun and lost the tenth again. They were going to give me the record for the slower runs. We had a time run on Saturday and I was able to get back to where I was on the fast run on Friday and backed up the faster run. If I hadn't made the run on Saturday morning the record would have been over a tenth slower.

Jack, we had the same thing happen to us at the 2012 Sports National. I went a 10:39 and backed it up with a 10:35@ 126.25. They put the record at a 10:36 @ 126.75! I made phone call after phone call to have it corrected, to no avail. Sent several emails, with the same results. What can be said about the guys in Glendora?
