Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
Yes very interesting , but before I condemn NHRA I would need to hear/ read the other side, always at least 2 sides right ?

Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
Anyone that has any dealings with the management know that they are all about the money and that their lack of integrity is well known.

Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
Similar to their deals with Fiat & Ford accepting those bogus HP ratings in exchange fro race sponsorship and providing vehicles. But we aren't Pros so it's not written about.

Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
Interesting read.I almost believe that NHRA either will not respond to the article or will wait for some time to respond. Sorta" let things cool down" if you will.- Mr. Asher has definately not minced his words and has called NHRA out regarding the 3 things mentioned. How about any of the energy beverages not being allowed cuz of the Coca Cola deal too??? Maybe now that M-Y is the series sponsor energy beverages will be able to sponsor anything but that will then/might make it impossible for say Pepsi or 7 up to sponsor anything. Should be interesting to see what happens---FED387

Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
How could the NHRA respond???? "Yes, we made it so only the Harleys could win (unless they fell off the motorcycles), so what? At least we all got some big checks and a new Harley in our Board of Directors garages! I don't see where we did anything unethical". Duh...
It is getting old watching them dismantle a lifetime of work by Wally Parks. Sad days are more common!!! Jok |
Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
I still miss Wally & Farmer.

Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
Have to believe Asher.
He's been a part of (and close to) our sport/hobby for a long time. He knows of what he speaks. Not a sensationalist either. As someone just said, its all about the money. And that they are busy dismantelling what Wally built for all of us. FJ |
Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
When you get so involved in something that you become totally absorbed it is healthy & advisable to make a change.
For the last 5 years I've been spending all the money NHRA extorted out of me on my Airplane. FYI: My Wife & I do enjoy it!!! (my Grand daughter just told me she does too!) |
Re: Ineresting Article on Competition Plus
It is not new that NHRA not allow competing sponsors like Coke and other energy drinks. At Atlanta Dragway (owned by NHRA) Barnett Performance used to do things like put up $1,000 for the person leading points at midseason and had one of the big signs behind the winners circle. Once Summit started their sponsor deal with the bracket series, Barnett was no longer allowed to buy advertising on the property. So far Barnett hasn't had to cover the writing on the car. Guess if Jegs can run at Atlanta Barnett should be safe too.
Ed, don't forget about the bogus GM ratinga too. |
