This 2011 Challenger 512 Drag Pak just sold at Barrett Jackson auction on the weekend in Las Vegas...does anyone here have any further info on this one, like who's was it, or who bought it...the final price is with their commission added on.

Wow - that is a real surprise and disappointment

We had to get permission to buy a white logo - thought we had the only black with white logo ( I knew everybody at Roush thought it looked to good)

Oh well - the price is considerably less than we paid counting base price, cage, paint and logo - so I would say it is a very good buy (options were $15000 I think)

Ours has been raced - not sure how they would effect price but I do know ours is faster than new and has all of the new car assembly problems worked out

That should be worth something - well maybe to a racer not a collector

Hope it went to a racer. Whenever "investors" start buying racecars, it screws it up for real racers. Any racer knows that the return on investment from race cars are withdrawn one run at a time!

I saw that auction on TV and cringed. Maybe it was a buyback? The seller probably netted less than $70K for it after sellers fees and cost to have it in the auction if it really sold.

I happen to see it go across live and also have it on the DVR. If memory serves me correctly it was prepped by Roush and it "only" sold for something like 80K but I could be off by a tad. I do remember thinking someone was getting a very good deal on it considering it was a V10 car. I talked to a guy recently in East Texas who bought one new (he's not a racer, just a collector) and if I'm not mistaken he told me his was north of 100K when he purchased it. He also owns 78 (yes, 78!) Vipers so I'm thinking what's 100K matter? :D

You'll get dimes on the dollar usually. Unless its extremely succesful with a race pedigree of winning lots of races or very special events or a famous driver was behind the wheel increasing its pedigree.
