Jackie Alley Towing Accident
Jackie Alley posted on her facebook page today that they had a towing accident on the way to Denver. Appears that they hit a bump & the stacker came loose & went down a steep ditch. She has a couple photos posted, looked like minimal damage but unknown.
Thank God no one was hurt!! Hope you make it to Denver jackie!! |

Re: Jackie Alley Towing Accident
Did the hitch break or the ball shear off.
Everyone needs to check their hitch before every trip and HOPE you catch it before it fails. Glad everyone is OK............ Jok |
Re: Jackie Alley Towing Accident
I see Mick Alley is on the Qualifying sheet at Denver so they made it to the track. Good luck you two.

Re: Jackie Alley Towing Accident
Brian Oaks pulled his trailer down to my house in cincinnati from the east coast with his motorhome and when he backed it into my driveway his hitch broke loose on the motorhome and fell onto the ground. He was really lucky it didnt happen on the inrterstate.
From then on I always checked my regularly. I hope Jackies car is okay. |

I had a similar trailer hitch incident in 2008. I was at Beech Bend and on Sunday I hitched up the camper trailer to go home and heard some weird popping noises while lowering the tongue onto the ball. Didn't think much about the popping and finished chaining up --then went into the camper. 20 minutes later I came out and saw the trailer pointing downward. (stress cracks--see pics) I got lucky nothing happened going down the road. I now buy the largest hitch I can for my trucks...a few bucks more is worth it. Tip:...check for cracks with the trailer hitched up and loaded. http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...itchbroke1.jpg http://i148.photobucket.com/albums/s...lerhitches.jpg |
